Day Trips to Cozumel
You can catch the ferry across to the Island of Cozumel for a day. The ferry port is near the town's main square and just a quick walk from the hotels.
Coba
The archaeological zone of Coba was once an important Maya city, occupying an area of approximately 70sq km. There is a construction known as "the Church" almost at the entrance of the archaeological site where you can observe numerous figures and symbols.
Felipe Carrillo Puerto
Considered as the meeting and departure point to all the Mayan communities in the area, the village of Felipe Carrillo Puerto is located close to Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. Visitors to the village will gain an impressive insight into the way of life and culture of the ancient Mayan who once settled in this area.
Muyil
One of the oldest Maya cities around is Muyil which means "City of Rabbits". Now surrounded by thick jungle, visitors are still able to view the site's three temple groups "El Castillo".
Puerto's Cedam Museum
The Cedam Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, conservation and non-intrusive exploration of underwater natural and archaeological resources. The museum, that it is in the Puerto Aventuras marina, has curious exhibits of 16th-century shipwrecks and a collection of artifacts rescued from the wreckage along the eastern coastline.
Puerto Morelos
As yet an undeveloped quiet village, perfect for a break away from the crowds and commercialism surrounding Cancun.
Punta Allen
is an ideal spot for ecological tourism as the place is one of the world's largest ecological reserve with plenty of wildlife such as crocodiles, manatees and herons to be spotted among the others.
Punta Maroma
The combination of string of white sandy beaches, ragged limestone shorelines, and sweet water from subterranean source mingling with the turquoise sea make this beach one of the paradise along the Atlantic Coast.
Izamal
Was primarily established by the Maya as a major pilgrimage center in dedication to the worship of Itzamna, patron of learning, science, and the arts as well as medicine and healing. It was converted to a Christian pilgrimage center following the order of Franciscan in 1549.
Sian Ka’an Biosphere
Sian Ka'an Biosphere is located between Tulum and Akumal and is a federally protected reserve that features freshwater canals, tropical forests, mangrove wetlands, lagoons, prairies and a 70-mile long barrier reef - the second largest barrier reef in the world.
Tres Rios
This ecological park is set in an area of low tropical jungle and mangrove on the Riviera Maya between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. The site is home to more than 100 species of animals and countless specimens of precious subtropical plants. There are dozens of activities to be enjoyed around the park such as horseback riding, bicycling, diving, swimming and kayaking.
